Privacy Policy
DCarbon Solutions, Inc. ("DCarbon", "we", "us", or "our") operates the DCarbon platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand exactly how your information is used.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information: information you provide directly to us (such as when you create an account, update your profile, enroll a facility, or communicate with us); information collected automatically when you use our platform or website; and information we receive from third parties.
- Contact information (name, email address, phone number)
- System information (system size, location, utility provider)
- Communications and content you share on the platform
- Device and usage information (IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and log data), collected through cookies and similar technologies
- Utility and energy data, including revenue meter data for an enrolled facility, provided with your authorization by utilities or third-party data providers
- Engagement information from social media and advertising platforms (such as Meta/Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and YouTube) when you interact with our content
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the DCarbon platform
- Enable renewable energy certificate (TREC) registration, tracking, and monetization
- Process payments and distribute earnings
- Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
- Operate our marketing and social media, and measure its effectiveness
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With vendors and service providers who need access to perform services on our behalf
- With energy registries, utilities, and program counterparties as needed to register, transfer, or monetize TRECs on your behalf
- With social media and advertising platforms (such as Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and YouTube) in connection with our marketing; your interactions on those platforms are also governed by their own privacy policies
- In response to legal requests when disclosure is required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
4. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information.
5. Your Choices
You may access, update, or request deletion of your account information and personal data (including any information obtained from Meta or other social media platforms) at any time by contacting us at info@dcarbon.solutions. Requesting deletion is free, and no fee or penalty applies to the request itself.
Some data, such as utility meter data for an enrolled facility, is necessary for us to provide the Services. If you delete or revoke access to that data while a facility is enrolled, we will handle your request in accordance with your applicable DCarbon service agreement. Doing so may suspend or end TREC generation for that facility; any early termination fee that may apply arises solely from ending that agreement, not from your deletion request. We may also retain certain information where required or permitted by law, for example to meet tax, energy-registry (including WREGIS), and other regulatory obligations, or to establish or defend legal claims.
